The train was an hour late arriving into Vienna, but we managed to catch a connection soon after arrived in Prague at around 3pm. Understandably, we didn’t get up to much on our first night, but even in arriving and going out for a bite to eat we were struck by the cheap prices that can still be found by staying and eating outside the centre of the city. Our two nights in a four star hotel cost just £47 between us, and the hotel was only a ten minute bus ride from the city centre. What&...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic alexanderdruryThis morning I went to see the famous Lipenzaler stalions training time. The training arena was beautiful - who would have thought horses could appreciate chandeliers!?? It was interesting to watch the horses and riders practice thier side steps and hops. Afterwards I had a nice lunch at a British cafe (go figure!) before heading to the train station. I travelled from Vienna back to Prague - a long trip but quite nice. Esther has gone travelling so I am on my own but I feel very comfortable c...

... guide we had seemed to have a heavy focus on architecture...
Checked out Charles Bridge and the JohnLennon wall and then headed back to the main square for some of the food I saw earlier in the morning.
Bramboraky (potato cakes) were awesome!! Then had some ham off the spit where tehy just hack off a big chunk, ask you if that's enough and you pay by the weight. Was really nice, but a bit pricey compared to other food options at other stalls.

... digs around the cathedral... what a tedious process. This entire complex was once the headquarters of the Holy Roman Empire.
Post castle, it was all downhill. The humidity burned off, the streets were dry, and the temperature was tolerable once again. We found a hidden-away spot to eat in the rear garden of a restaurant on the way down from the castle. The ladies ate pork roast, cabbage (sauerkraut), and two types of ...
... had already decided extended our visit by another day......and we both had already spent 3 days there on our last trips!!!! After a quick walk around we had a walk around the main square we went in search for another hostel as our one was full. We found a cheap one in a dodgy shopping arcade nearer the railway station. Then to the station to purchase our tickets into Poland (as there has been stories of gassings and alike we opted for a 1st ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic dockerills... in tricky or embarrassing situations) to question the driver. No English, but I have a pamphlet with the camp logo and he is a lovely man, so with much smiling, pointing, and him getting off the bus to show us directions we have a plan. We can wait close by for another bus with is 30mins away, so like normal we head off on foot, it cant be far. Its only about a 20min walk and we don't get lost, so all in all not too bad. Our delay means the bar is about to open, I twist robs ...

Prague, Czech Republic girlygirl1226... planet. Somehow, despite the sudden recurrence of Bubonic Plague in Central Europe, all four of us did manage to cross the Charles Bridge, a famous pedestrian-only crossing of the Vltava River. Before we began, we learned of the bridge's history and landmarks, which included a statue of a Czech saint on the opposite end that people rub for good luck. According to legend, you're allowed only one wish in your entire life, so you'd better make it count. On the way across the bridge, I ...
Prague, Czech Republic the_stamms... looking for a backerie and an Aldi to do some shopping till i figured out they dont have them here. As for the city itself, very pretty. Ofcourse. Very touristy though. Probably too much so. It feels very strange here in that every place i see is either an American burger and ribs joint, a McDonalds or a souviner shop. I havent even had to attempt to tell someone that i only speak English, everyone speaks English ...
Prague, Czech Republic nattai... around the corner with incredibly cheap breakfast type foods. Im sure that we did more than i have told you about because we managed to fill our days really easily and ended up very tired at the end, at the moment though i cant remember what else to tell you. just wait for the next installment though because, and im going to get stephen to help me write the next one, we have experienced some comedic GOLD over the last couple of days that i really cant wait to share with you ...
