The train was an hour late arriving into Vienna, but we managed to catch a connection soon after arrived in Prague at around 3pm. Understandably, we didn’t get up to much on our first night, but even in arriving and going out for a bite to eat we were struck by the cheap prices that can still be found by staying and eating outside the centre of the city. Our two nights in a four star hotel cost just £47 between us, and the hotel was only a ten minute bus ride from the city centre. What&...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic alexanderdruryThis morning I went to see the famous Lipenzaler stalions training time. The training arena was beautiful - who would have thought horses could appreciate chandeliers!?? It was interesting to watch the horses and riders practice thier side steps and hops. Afterwards I had a nice lunch at a British cafe (go figure!) before heading to the train station. I travelled from Vienna back to Prague - a long trip but quite nice. Esther has gone travelling so I am on my own but I feel very comfortable c...

... I caught Massive Attack - which was a phenomenal concert, both visually and audibly. I think we all have a new crush on everyone in that band now. Karolina's son, Lukas, was toted all around the city and was a wonderful baby. His cozy pram attracted longing eyes from all of us on some of those cold walks around Vysehrad and Prague Castle. We all spent time with friends and Karo spent time yelling at and cussing out city ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic fordwi1... planning on going to Vienna, but decided to follow me there.

What ends up happening in Prague is another story. This place wasnt as great as i thought it would be. I guess thats because everyone was hyping it up. I just felt that it was too touristy. Much would be the general view of Europe so far. But, it did have one thing, goulash, and i had it. Except that i didnt realize that you pay for EVERYTHING that is put on the table. So much for a cheap meal via ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic kciarnie... a hostel renowned for its train-spotting, literally. We celebrated Robin's birthday with some lively Irish lads at an all night (non stop) european club. One of those interesting joints with the underground maze of tunnels leading you to bar within pub within club. The best part of the night was busting the cabbie on the way back for trying to scam us into an unrequested (yet on the meter) tour of the city.
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic ainaz... my theory that the pub was in fact older than this, so I conducted some extensive timber analysis of the building's structural posts and I established that the pub was aproximately 5.5 million years old. This coincided with the fact that all the beer in the pub was actually brewed by dinosaurs. After all this Tyler (one of my travel chums) decided to take us to a Retro-fashion shop he had been told about. Turns out it was Retro-fashion...for women ...
Prague, Czech Republic lordcool... our stay, six days. In return, we washed and hung her curtains. It was a great proposition since the apartment had really high ceilings so Bryan had to do all the work while I ate sun flower seeds and chatted with Szophia. Being short has its advantages. Prague.... WOW! Talking about ending the trip with a bang. We have never seen anything quite like it. Every street, every corner of this city is impecable. It looks like a city that the elves in the Lord of The Rings would ...
Prague, Czech Republic globeriders... branch and practice what I preach. Me & Clare have made it to Prague. We have however spent 3 days in London so I better give some highlights of that. This entry could drag on a bit as I'm not known for keeping things short. I'll do my best to keep it interesting for you readers out there. Firstly the flight; NZ2 direct from Auckland to London. It's about the fastest way to do it even if it does take about 24 hours. I've done this flight before a few years ...
Prague, Czech Republic gypsyfeet... brunch/lunch we thought it would be nice to go to the theater today since we had a long day here! First, we just walked around nice and slowly and found a park! We sat down and mom read to us on the grass about the history of Prague (while Dad fell asleep on my lap)! We then walked a little way to the Bridge that is in Mission Impossible! On that bridge there were lots of little sellers with their paintings! On the ...
Prague, Czech Republic tucker... believe his luck. Marie was my santa, and I got a little bit teary opening all my gifts, since she's decided not to come back to Romania at the end of the break. There was no snow until Boxing Day, which was spent being lazy and finishing off the pudding Mum sent over (much appreciated Mum!). Thinking it would be a really funny idea to steal the other rooms television, we set to it as soon as they had gone for a walk, taking their ...
