      Monk-in-around On Ben's Birthday

We had to celebrate Benjamin's 26th Birthday by making it a weekend long festivity! We finished our last day of english camps at the Hua Hin Public school, and celebrated with our new friends by eating traditional thai and drinking by the pool. Then it started to down pour, so naturally the blue team leapt into the pool while the others ran out. (You're already wet what's the big deal? haha!) We hung out in and around the pool, until ...

So, as I guess has become apparent from my lack of communication in the last month or so, my time with elephants has surpassed all of my expectations. I came here for 3 weeks, prepared to travel around Thailand afterwards...and at the end of that time I just couldn't leave. Excellent dinner, again surrounded by very well fed Germans and Russians. Starbucks then Tuk Tuk ...

... made for a lovely evening. We returned barefoot the shortcut along the beach 100m and so avoided our friend black dog. This is a very nice resort but it is a few kms from the town centre and so without a car you would have to taxi in and out. There is a restaurant but it is only open Sat and Sunday. However on the plus side if it's peace and quiet you want then this would be hard to beat. 28/7 quiet Saturday - sleep in till ...

... feet high. They came right up close to people. I hadn't brought my camera because I thought we were just going swimming, so unfortunately I have no pictures. There must have been hundreds, if not thousands of monkeys monkeying around! It was quite amazing. We saw alpha males, and less dominant males, we saw pregnant females, and females with their babies clinging to them, and toddler monkeys playing; we saw monkeys picking up trash ...
