We looked around the Dal Lake and stopped at the beautiful Mughal Gardens. The whole place is surrounded by massive mountains and has a different feel from the rest of India. It is more peaceful and what is special is that it is clean! Not as much rubbish on the streets is quite a unique view here.

... tourist office. I trusted my instincts and went with his idea. To stay at his house boat a night or two, do a couple of cool things in Kashmir and then hit Leh. And everything would be sorted for me. One thing to verify - was he a cool dude, I arrived at the house boat and there was a new zealand guy there sleeping. I woke him up and politey asked how much he was paying and was it cool here. he confirmed! bosh!
