City (they were all teachers, honest guv!) we were pretty sure were just at it, because when they invited us for a beer, we said neither of us drink beer, then they invited us for tea, we said we couldn’t because we had to get back, they dropped the conversation like a hot stone and disappeared into the crowds, possibly in search of new victims!

        Beijing is the largest city I have ever been in so far, it has almost 22 million people in it, can you imagine ...

        ... Yonghe Gate, Yonghe Hall, Yongyou Hall, Hall of the Wheel of the Law, and Wanfu Pavilion. There were dozens of believers at the temple compound, many making prayers while waving sticks of burning incense. The chief attraction is the 59-foot-tall Buddha carved from sandalwood.

        The curling was held at the Capital Indoor Stadium, which was where the Volleyball event was held during the Beijing Olympics. Luckily we were able to stay at a hotel right across the street.

        The stadium holds 17000 seats, but there were rarely more than 2000 people in the stands. The Kevin Koe team had all their wives and kids along, as well as some parents. There were also perhaps maybe 10 other Canadian fans there, that attend ...
