... some sleeping on floors, some on seats, in queues etc. Huge and complicated. Disgusting loos; one can barely see for smoke; floors covered in what one can only hope is mud. Grim. We had been unable to book bunks on the train so had to try to sleep on seats not dissimilar to on the trains at home. There were a lot of people standing jammed in the aisles. Everybody was perfectly prepared, as good socialists should be, to nationalise the soap TV/zany music video/violent film ...

We played safe and had sweet and sour pork, chicken and cashew nuts and egg fried rice...with 2 large bottles of beer. The food was great and well worth 102 (10ish) for the lot, plus 2 x 10p as we used the glasses.

... gutted). Peking Duck. Scorpions on a stick. Sanlitun (another pricey cool bar area). A massive night out where I got very drunk.

    T shirt hilarity.

The whole t-Shirt culture in China I find quite amusing. Only a small number speak any English but its like you are nobody if you don't have a t-shirt with and english phrase on it. Some of them are fairly normal, like general sportswear or fashion brands, or t-shirts featuring western tv and films, ...

... loved the area and took lots of photos. She was so adorable (a 5-year-old taking pictures of abstract contemporary art) that every time she stopped to take a photo, anywhere from 3-5 other people would stop to take a photo of her taking a photo. We had a really nice time.

After a while we met up with Jack and decided to find a glass of wine. This would be my first attempt at ...
