    When I first opened my eyes, I thought that I saw smog outside until I realized that it was just cloudy. I got up and decided to go for a classic look. So, I chose to wear my purplish red scarf I got from Pingyao with my Forever 21 jacket.

    First thing I did was to get a chicken wrap from the vendor outside my dorm. Then, I went to the basement lounge to study for my dictation today. Originally, I worried if I could get back into studying mode, but I did.

    There was a thunder and lightning storm in the night which led to a hotel power outage including much needed air conditioning. Who knew that it could downpour buckets of rain in Beijing during July?

    We faired the rain with flip flops and a borrowed umbrella. On the bright side instead of dripping wet from the humidity and heat we were dripping wet from the rain.

    ... along the wall is very steep in parts, and slippery. We see a few people falling down. We spend on hour walking along the Great wall before heading back to have some lunch. The weather was a let down, but not much we can do about it.

    On the way back home Kevin take us to visit a Silk factory, a Tea tasting store and shop that makes Chinese hand crafts. All very interesting.

    ... setting up for a wedding, so we found a bar to have a glass of wine (from a different region of course!) and headed back to the bus. Already a little late, we hit accident traffic coming back into the city. The organisers had brought several bottles of wine with the money left over which was poured, and anyone who’d brought wine contributed as the journey was going to take some time.
