... the Tang Dynasty presided over one of China's most glorious cultural periods! This theater is very fancy (although a bit chintzy if you look at the costumes closely . . . ). ... During that weekend, we ate very well, there were a lot of fruits and nuts, and the meals Barry's parents cooked for us were plentiful. I also tasted the best 炒面 (Chao Mian, or fried noodles) I've ever had. When I thought the weekend couldn't get any better, we were served Chinese tea, and it was definitely the greatest tasting tea I've ever tasted.

... Carmel, James and Emily (Economics, Business, English and English teachers) from Ningbo Zhenhai A Level centre plus John and a couple of Lithuanian female friends of theirs. We went to the Eudora Bar and then onto C for dancing. These were in Laouwai Town, which is the really buzzy area in Ningbo where there are lots of clubs and bars. We had a lovely evening, lots of fun, and good company.
... Chinese friends, Barry, who has been really great for showing me some true Chinese experiences. For example, one night, Patrick, Eric, Barry and his friend and I all went to a restaurant that serves a wide variety of typical Chinese food. The tastes went from spicy, to salty, to sweet and sour, and we ate a whole fish (complete with the eyes and tail), frog meat, shrimp, bamboo, and a lot of rice. My favourite dish was by far the spicy frog meat.
