    Booked a 5 night package to the seaside resort of Buzios - they call this the St Tropez of Brazil - and its claim to fame is that it changed from a simple fishing village to now after Brigitte Bardot came here with her then Brazilian boyfriend. Granted it is a pretty place lined with cobble stoned streets which are busy with tourists and sand buggy’s all day long. Life size statues are scattered throughout the town and along the broadwalk.

    The beaches are packed. With everything closed, the beach is the place. Copacabana and Ipanema are 20 people thick all along. Great for people watching but not great for beaching. I have a list of activities for Copacabana so I decide to experience a different side of Carnaval. Ipanema has a bloco early. Fun but packed.
