      ... after hours. We were not a happy bunch. We drove in total darkness and rain so could not appreciate the lovely countryside. Truthfully, we were not feeling very appreciative. The buses rolled out again at 7 a.m. the next morning for another 2.5 hr trip to the airport where we learned that the flights (Frankfurt-London-SFO) we booked by phone from the hotel were not in either UAL's or LH's computers so, once again, we had to scramble. ...

      ... and got some Magnum ice creams. The next day we head to Santa Cruz. We walk from downtown to the beach and walk along the pier. There were two sea lions lying on the planks of wood under the pier we went down for a look at they were huge. Murray bought a new T-shirt and we had a stroll along the beach and onto the boardwalk.
