Unfortunately, while the country has really started to embrace the future, they seem to have held on to their potatoes-and-potatoes (covered in some kind of rich sauce) mentality when it comes to food. One of my hiccups came last night when I arrived in Poprad. It was almost nine in the evening, and already the mercury had dropped below freezing. My hostel was almost a mile from the train station, but I decided to walk there. The ...

The buildings here are quaint and they're starting to look like Austrian or Swiss chalets. There are many large, aging Grand Hotels, that harken back to days of yore. We just saw the movie "Grand Budapest Hotel" by Wes Anderson on a night bus to Warsaw. It's a great movie and I swear we saw the hotel that inspired ...

... included fruit and tea as a compensation. Basically that was our lunch each day since we got up late and then ate an early dinner at the buffet. The first night's buffet was heavy, traditional food and we were worried, but the food got better as the weekend approached. All in all the food was good for a buffet.

This is the laziest we've been on the trip so far, but it was what most people call a "vacation." What's that?
