A very nice and quiet hotel. Just a bit far when walk from Kyoto Station to the hotel. Fortunately the hotel provided shuttle service.

A very refreshing feel when arrived kansai airport. But surprised to see the jam at custom. It took us more than an hour to clear. Then another jam at collection of JR Passes. All these made it impossible for us to catch the evening tour at Kyoto.

Lost in translation, found in Kyoto. Thank you CS

It took me a few seconds to recuperate where I was as the alarm woke us up . "Japan" I said out loud with a smile as I realized I was yet again in a new country. A busy day was ahead of us, and thankfully seeing Kent and I were so alike there was ...

We all smiled and laughed at each other, all the way to the station, and then they all said goodbye in English and went to catch their train.
We looked for dinner straight away, we thought we should eat cos we were so tired, there was no way we would be going back out once we got to our hotel room. Rick had seen another ...

... the Philosopher's Path starts. What it is is just a narrow, stone path that follows a canal lined with hundreds of cherry trees. I did not come at the right time for cherry blossom viewing, but the path was quite spectacular without them. There are a few shops along this route, but most are very understated and quiet. After the hustle and bustle of the street near The Silver Pavilion, I was expecting the path to be just as crowded but it wasn't. I almost had it completely to ...
