      ... Crowded buses. Crowds to catch trains and buses. Crowds to get into any attractions (except Disneyland on a cold rainy day), etc. You get the idea.

      • The Japanese obsession with superheating transport in Winter. I understand that the Japanese Winters are cold, but that is still not a good excuse to cook your bus or train occupants. The strange thing was that we seemed to be the only ones that noticed this temperate madness. ...

      We then went to Todaiji Temple. It is the world's largest wooden building and houses one of the largest Buddha statues in the world as well. The place was packed with school groups. They must have had some sort of English assignment because my brother kept getting asked the same questions over and over again by the students. That was followed up with a group picture.

      Todaiji Temple itself is amazing but ...

      ... downside it that after about 25 years, it starts deteriorating.

      The palace featured all different styles of architecture, and also some very nice gardens. After the tour, we walked on to Kinkaku-ji, a temple covered in gold. It was quite a long walk, but it was worth it. Although it was around evening the sun still made the gold light up, and it was a nice sight. Afterwards, we returned to our hotel.
