The Surf Shop was in full swing upon arrival less than an after after opening. While waiting our turn, I struck up a conversation with a family who were on vacation from Tacoma. Asking if they would transport our rental board in their truck turned out better than expected. Not only did they take our board, they helped us clean and transport our dirty wetsuit and and back! So I took my time and finally caught up with them on the dune just before the beach. the beach was hazy with overcast but there were lots of discoveries to be made: shells, bubbles, feathers, jellyfish - tons of them but I couldn't get a decent photo despite probably taking at least 2 dozen of them. ... this HUGE bridge crossing a bay into Washington. I wasn't able to stop for a cool photo of me next to the Washington sign like I did for Oregon, but I think I'll survive. Then I headed to my next campground for my second night in a yurt!! I checked in already, and it's not as nice as last night's yurt, although they look almost identical. This one doesn't have curtains, they're just permanently closed flaps, and it doesn't seem as clean. But it's ok, it's only one night ...

... needed exercise. I hadn't ridden the bike in over a week. All worked well except for a front wheel "squeak" problem. Perhaps it's because of the humidity here, since they were silent in Helena. "Such is life," as my dear departed Mom would have said.

The fishers did fine. Lynn caught a 17 pound native salmon and another smaller one. Both had to be released to help build up the population of wild salmon. Lynn got to ...
