... two villages with very old traditional gassho-style houses. Gassho means "praying hands". The two villages where very cute but also very very touristic. I will notice that I really like rice fields (I you haven't already noticed that from pictures earlier this trip) and I felt in love with Japanese temples, houses and gardens. ... had pre-ordered. The relatives have been so incredibly accommodating. They found out that John liked pizza so they had to go and buy some to add to the dinner menu. To Kiyoko and Shunichi's house. Very beautiful home. Large - Shunichi's parents live in an adjoining separate house. The weather was really nice, and since we brought our rice ball lunch, we leisurely had our lunch after watching the dolphin show. Mostly local tourists. Very few foreigners, if any. THis is a local tourist spot, a place where everything is conducted in Japanese. Being a local resident, we are supposed to visit local attractions as well, right?

... views of the ocean, sea cliffs and wonderful towns. Everywhere you look, there are gardens being planted, tilled, tended and manicured. The Noto citizens take such incredible pride in the gardens that the area was recently designated a Japanese National Heritage area for its gardening and agriculture. We enjoy looking at everything, as well as eating the wonderful produce.
