In Japanese, Satoyama is a word that describes Japan's unspoiled farming landscape co-existing with local life and nature, and satoumi represents coastal areas in which the sea has a strong connection with people's livelihoods. ... views of the ocean, sea cliffs and wonderful towns. Everywhere you look, there are gardens being planted, tilled, tended and manicured. The Noto citizens take such incredible pride in the gardens that the area was recently designated a Japanese National Heritage area for its gardening and agriculture. We enjoy looking at everything, as well as eating the wonderful produce.
The sun was just beginning to shine through when we reached our lunch ...
