41 Gap Road Alice Springs, Red Centre, Northern Territory, Australia

There is not a lot to do in Alice Springs, and what there is to do I didn't do it, it took me a day of sleeping to recover from all my early mornings on my Northern Territory and Uluru tours. I made 2 visits to Alice Springs, firstly it was as a stop over night on my Darwin - Alice Springs including Uluru, tour. I spent one night there before getting up early and setting off to Uluru. Part of the tour included a meal, and a nights accomodation at Melankas, which I would not reccomend to stay ...
Alice Springs, Australia benihnioAfter a short flight from Perth, where it had only taken me about 6 attempts and various levels of disrobing to get through the security whilst Burt and Crow peered on anxiously (probably thinking I would never be gone) I arrived at the oasis Alice Springs. I was picked up at the airport by a representative of Annie's Place, the hostel which was running the tour that myself and my Tasmanian friend Anna would be joining. The Rock tour. If you can stretch your imagination the tour encompassed K...

Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia bettyinsydneyKevin and I woke up without much time to spare. I had a piece of toast for breakfast before we were bussed to the airport. We flew from Cairns to Alice Springs in central Australia. Not many people live in the Northern Territory, probably because it is a huge desert. It is often referred to as the 'Red Center' because the sand is very red and the climate is very inhospitable. When the group arrived in Alice Springs, Reggie Ramsden was there to meet us. We rode the bus from the airport to the ...
Alice Springs, Australia brettski Escaping cold Adelaide I made my way to the Northern Territory and flew to Alice Springs for the one and only Rock Tour.
First impression: the big Nothing! and with regards to Alice it pretty much stayed that way.
On the morning of the tour we all got collected from our hostels and sat off to the heart of the Australian Outback. So far I had been really lucky with all my tour groups and was curious how it would turn out this time. Who could have guessed that this would be the best and...
On the 24th June we caught a 2 hour or 2400km flight to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. We spent our first night in Alice Springs at Toddys Backpackers, a not so great ex-motel. The next day it was an early start (6.00am). We got picked up by our tour guide ( The rock tour), then set off on the long drive. The tour normally has around 21 people however we only had 11 in our group. Unfortunately after about 1 hour driving we had a problem with the bus & so it was a change of plan ...

Alice Springs, Australia dynamoMy arrival in Alice was greeted with a loud bang from underneath Fredrica. The engine subsequently stalled and left us stranded in the middle of a busy intersection in the middle of Alice. We were able to start the engine again and get her parked up but she is not a happy camper. There is water leaking out from somewhere in the engine and the loud bang was the exhaust exploding. We got most of our stuff and got a taxi to Toddys hostel. I was talking to some people in the hostel and they said ...
