Booked some months in advance and got a 23Stg rate. Rooms are new only 7 months old (May 2013) has free parking a great buffet breakfast and all the usual conveniences. Close by is a small general store, the waterfront is across the road with loads of eating places.

We also experienced our first hills, we got up them very slowly indeed. ... with its thatched roof, its walls covered with ivy and all the multicolored flowers at the front just reminded both of us of Hansel & Gretel.

In the evening we went with Tom for a digestive walk. The initial plan was to take a quit walk to have a view at the estuary with Fellixstowe in the background and then have a couple of pints at the local pub but it was close. Thus we extended our walk a little and then had to retreat to ...

... Dong Ha and will work my way through Vietnam until I get to Ho Minh City (Saigon) which is the largest city in Vietnam and has the biggest backpacker district in the country.  From here I will cross the border into Cambodia arriving at Phnom Penh and will travel to Siem Reap for the Temples of Angkor Wat. From here I can cross the border back into Thailand and head south to the islands of Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan, Ko Phi Phi etc. In theory this is where the journey ends ...

... Graham's son Robert along with his wife Isabel and their two children Thomas and Henry also joined us. All very nice.
The weather was pretty good, the food was fabulous, wine just chilled enough and of course the company just great. All to soon it was time to say goodbye again with promises of keeping in touch. Yes we will do that. Sally and Phil have a house in France as well and although we did not get to visit them this trip we will ensure that we go there ...
