... train (formerly titled VIA’s Skeena service). Our consist is VIA F40PH-2 #6404, coach 8118 and Waterton Park dome observation. On departure we head for the dome and are again treated to another great view of Mount Robson, as well as a steady stream of wildlife—in the first five minutes from Jasper we see three black bear and one grizzly. Just as we parked, the rain started! Oh well, the first part of the trail was through forest so we embarked anyway! This hike is 10 km, partly over hilly forest terrain, partly along river edge, partly across sand beach at low tide. We knew that it was important to work ...

Last night we settled into the Crystal Cabin in Tlell and will stay for the next few days. The Crystal Cabin is centrally located on the island and offers a full efficiency apartment for a more reasonable price than anything else we have found on the island. Although it has 'lots' of stairs, it is very comfortable. It was fun to poke around the yard as the owner is a jeweler and rock hound and has ...
