Finally worked out my route.

Fly to Armenia, travel through Georgia to Turkey and fly from Istanbul to Mumbai. Work my way across to Calcutta and fly to Bangkok. Through Thailand and Cambodia to Vietnam, then onto China.

I am setting off early September 2010 and aim to be in China early December, maybe.

Wednesday 17th June

We are awake at 6am and finish off the last bits of packing. Yes, after six months in Portugal it’s finally time to leave for home. Our preparations with Susan are completed and she is ready to continue with local staff and run the guest house through the summer.

It's about 3-4klm from Alan's place (the old Derby home, "The Baseball Ground", was less than a 1klm away until it was torn down in 2004) so it was a nice walk. We don't know much about antiques, so cannot tell if there are any bargains, but nice to look at all the history. Well its tuesday morning . I stayed at bjarne's last night . He has a really nice house.Its a victorian terrace which whilst looking small from the front, has seemingly tardis qualities once inside. Had spaghetti for tea,tomato sauce with garlic and herb pasta. ( I didnt say anything(: )Also had a few beers. Slept well on a bunk bed which is so high up that if I lie on back and lift up my knees they hit the ceiling. Anyway this travel entry testing continues.
