Our first full day driving around in England - and it was raining! It was a bit unnerving at times. We got lost regularly, but there are many ways to get where you want to go, so we were never too far off course. We drove through the Cotswolds (Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Snowshill, Stanway, the Slaughters, ...

Returning from Tower of London with our heads

... over to St. Paul's Cathedral for our visit. Less chance of crowds! Found the tube transfers to the St. Paul station and we were off! St. Paul's Cathedral is an incredibly beautiful church. "She was shrewd,so kind and so amusingly unkind,so sharp such fun,so naughty". The Queen Mother By Fiona Bruce "A fat slug filled with venom." "So shrewd, so kind and ...

A travel blog entry by carpefeline on Dec 25, 2013

We are lucky enough to have a lovely rental property that sits behind the first hole of a golf course. It is quite nice not to have other homes behind us and we have a great view up the fairway for this hole. The only time it is irritating is some mornings when the groundskeepers come riding down to their shack which is also behind the first hole and they are quite noisy as they get out their machines. But for the most part it ...

... br> My friend Poh Tee likes to cook! We have eaten roast duck, with root vegetables cooked in goose fat, baby carrots and beans, stir fried in garlic! Followed by Belgian chocolate cake and Duchy of Cornwall Stilton, with a Chilean Malbec! The night before it was steamed trout with garlic, ginger, chilli and a soy sauce/chinese wine sauce, with beef and black bean sauce and chicken and vegetable stir fry. I hope I survive long enough to start the bike ...
