... struggling up some very steep gradients on our little mopeds. We stopped for some lunch at Kantiang beach, to enjoy some spicy salads and refreshing beer. From Kantiang until the border of the national park, we only stopped for monkey crossings (much to Amelia's dismay), or for taking pictures at view points. The heat was just about bearable, but on our way back, a much needed cold fresh coconut attracted us into a bar located on a cliff side overlooking Kantiang. Slurping away, ...

... wasn't the greatest in comparison to the multitude of inaccessible clear waters located on the otherside of the pier. Despite this, we enjoyed the clear waters and came close to a Komodo Dragon (thanking God he wasn't hungry) before returning to the boat for the journey back to Ko Lanta. We arrived, looked straight ahead and saw the sea and ...

... and bars the length of the beach, and we walked a mile or so in the shallow sea before stopping for a coffee. On the way back I noticed a young German couple had made a father Christmas out of pebbles on the sand, and there were people sitting on the beach wearing Santa hats! On our way back we bought a bat and ball and some new swimming shorts for Adam and spent the next few hours in the pool at the hotel, making the most of the sun!! Adam ...

Koh Phi Phi to Koh Lanta

I'm glad I came back slightly earlier than the girls as we had to be up at 9 to move onto Koh Lanta, another Thai island further south. Ellie and I walked our bags to the pier and had some breakfast whilst the others paid for their bags to be carried. The boat was a couple of hours so again we napped. We had to pay to get on this island as well as Phi Phi which is awkward when you've got your front and back pack on in a squashed queue ...
