Long Beach Ko Lanta, Thailand, 075-684133
... entrance of the cave I saw an orangey red one. I remember my dad saying the red and purple ones are dangerous, or did he say the pink and purple ones - I couldn't remember. I panicked but it was too late to swim back. We swam in the swell into the entrance and it got very dark, then it was absolutely pitch black and smelt of urine - it reminded me of the end of Titanic - arms and legs everywhere and we were both booted in the face a few times. We emerged ...
Ko Lanta, Krabi, Thailand emmaandpaul... and the beachy resorty feel of the beach resort. The area was virtually devoid of any other human souls, and gorgeous yet again. Just a sh*tload of beach and nobody to fight over it with.
In the UK on those very special occasions (3 days of each year) when the holy trinity comes together...
1) It's sunny
2) We have money
3) We don't happen to be working (or decide on the power of the other two that we are suddenly ill)

... to another jetty. This time we were at the right place and we all piled onto the ferry. There wasnt enough room on the Ferry so we had to sit outside amongst the bags. I again fell asleep and Bryden listened to music. Our ferry ride was an hour and a half and as soon as we arrived in Ko Phi Phi Bryden pushed me off the ferry and started rushing towards the Rock backpackers. It is highly recommended by Lonely Planet and we have found that not only is it our bible but it ...

Puk makes traditional 'cun um clocks’ which are little round coconut pancake sort of cakes? Hard to explain but they are delicious and she takes such care when she makes them. Richy is a long haired man who sits and mends shoes, designs buildings (an architect by trade) or just simple chats with us.
Once we mentioned that the bar owner down the road may have caught a sea eagle, clipped its tail and was trying to pass it off as a ‘ ...
... who ran it were LAZY! There was so much broken stuff everywhere (like a light in the pool dangling so I thought I would be electrocuted every time I got in!), and they hadn't mowed the lawn, burnt rubbish in the morning next to our Bungalow etc. I should have known this wouldn't be a good place. They said they had cable (some how only 3 cable channels all in Thai) and the air con didn't really work. And in the middle of ...
Ko Lanta, Thailand jamish... a little high just walking by a couple of the happening little reggae bars. I decided to head to Phi Phi island a day earlier, and will head over there by boat in the morning. Phi Phi island is famous for being the place where they filmed that famous movie " The Beach" several years ago. It truly is beautiful , but the movie really brought the tourists in wanting their own private paradise. The Tsunami that hit here in 2005 wiped so much of Phi Phi away, and they have really ...
Krabi, Thailand elizacass... My dive guide looked at me with a huge "underwater smile" & made the shark sign to me, followed by a thumbs up. I returned the sign & we eventually made our way back up to the surface. Back on the boat, we were all excited & relayed the story to the rest of the divers. After a quick lunch in Maya Bay, with Maya Beach in the background, we dove in for the second dive. Within about 5 minutes, we spotted a turtle eating away on the ocean floor. I hovered ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand wally09... lapped against the beach as a soundtrack. I took the opportunity to stroll across the rocks and find a good spot to read a letter given to me by my beautiful girlfriend Elle before I left. I wanted to read it somewhere special and Bubu Island despite it's slightly teletubby name was it. After reading it I really wished she was there to enjoy a slice of hedonistic paradise with me. Me, Em and the others in ...
Ko Lanta, Thailand lekka... of how the day went: 8:30 am: mini bus picks us up at our bungalow. Drive to ferry dock. Take 2 ferry boats. Mini bus drops us off at a taxi .Taxi takes us to a ticketing office. Wait. Taxi comes and takes us to a street somewhere and leaves us there. Rickety (but air-con) bus picks us up. Drive 3 hours, with many random stops (which I will later discover was just opportunities for locals to go into the baggage holder and rifle through our things. No, my ...
Ko Lanta, Thailand packingitin... on the sidewalk along a street, spotless and empty. We half-heartedly stopped at one or two places that hinted of offerings of a bed for the night (no English, either in the way of signs or greetings, would've normally kept us at bay, but somewhat desperate times called for more desperate action), partly using sign/body language to ask if they were such an establishment. After my second break, we'd gotten back to strolling toward town, when out of the blue, a car pulled up ...
