        ... of the city to a path which followed a river all the way to the centre of Burgos. The last 1.5 hours of walking was among trees, the shade and peacefulness was very welcome.

        Once in the city it only took about 10 mins and asking directions twice to find the hostel where Keith was. He was surprised to see me by 4.45pm. 38 kms in 9 hours. It was lovely to clean up, stretch and relax then go and find some food. Sleep was high on my ...

        ... about leaving Burgos ... we also leave hills and enter an area referred to as The Meseta, described to us as 'kind of like Saskatchewan'. Some pilgrims choose to skip this part and bus ahead ... they find the landscape boring and monotonous. Others find this territory to be the place where the best thinking and reflection occur. Regardless, we had absolutely no intention of skipping a place without hills!!
