      ... the Vatican, but I think Doges palace rivalled it. Opulent paintings and frescos lined every inch of the rooms in that palace. Quite extraordinary. Unfortunately we did not have the audio tour ( as they randomly shut down the audio tour desk only)'and we would have had to wait another hour so we did without.       Made the most of our day by getting up early and visiting the fresh food market we tasted delicious Mediterranean sundried tomatoes and wandered around eating fresh raspberries.
