Bikaner - Jaisalmer
... can't seem to capture.
Our guide took us on a walking tour of the of the fort. This fort is still a living fort with residences and shops in it. Our tour guide still lives in the fort. The roads were narrow and we had to avoid the traffic and the kings of the road - the cows and don't forget their cakes on the ground too. I noticed that it was also very peaceful here. No noise pollution - no honking or tutting. Only some moooing....by the cows who seems to roam ...
Making friends, building sand castles&bruised bums
... swimming between 2 and 4: it was 2:30! We decided to ignore this at about 3:30 when Yasmin and Kev came and joined us.
After a lazy afternoon and getting clean, we arranged to meet Yasmin and Kev at 6:30 to go for a wonder and then for dinner. We started early, I had to pack by laptop light due to a power outage, which was interesting to say the least. We managed to check out of our hotel before our overly friendly hotel tout caught ...
For forty percent
... had some vested interest in guilt-tripping us.
We walked out under cloudy skies onto the flooded streets to look for the lovely terrace restaurant we'd spotted in our wanderings the night before. It turned out to be the best spot in Jaisalmer, as we were assured by a fellow traveller who sat down at our table (curiously the only occupied one in the then empty restaurant). He'd been around for some time, he said, done the desert safari, seen all there was to ...
