Saturday we were up early, had breakfast, disembarked, walked to the train station and rode to Schiphol Airport in plenty of time to catch our flight to Munich. After landing, we picked up our rental car and drove about 35 miles south into the hills to Schliersee. Monday there was a break in the weather, so we drove to nearby Neuhaus and walked the trail to Spitzingsee to see the beautiful waterfall. Then we ...

We walked down to the Zeller and hired ...

Breakfast at the guest house was simple buy delicious, bread rolls, cold meat, cheese, good coffee. There were a number of Japanese and Chinese staying at the gust house, I think we were the only European. Going to the lake we caught the bus, as we had the Berchtesgaden card it was free. This meant walking to the train station which was only 550 ...

... since we got up this morning and raining at every place we have passed through!! From Freilssang to Berchestgaden the journey was really interesting, the train wound its way through the very narrow valley, with the mountains often snow tipped through the mist were in touching reach. It is truely beautiful, the wooded forest, with the dark fur trees reaching down, nearly touching the train, birch trees ...
