Christmas Markets!
... Makes a change to NZ slopes that are mostly freezing. Got some really good pictures of the mountains along with some nice cheesy ones of us too :)
Also half way up the mountain was an alpine zoo. Never been to one of those, so we decided to check it out. Housed all sorts of cool animals, our favourite being the bear that continued to dig a great big hole and show off to the on lookers, he was pretty cool.

Friday 2 November 2012 Innsbruck Just in case you were waiting ........ the sauna provided little of note, not least because Steph and I didn't make it and Helen is too polite to recount the sights! This story has fallen a little flat, sadly. Firday, our last day in Austria. We had to return the car to the airport in Innsbruck. Our flight back home was to be from Munich since Easyjet don't fly out of Innsbruck ...
Forest thaw
... 3 miles uphill is no mean feat and all of us arrived at the mountain farm station in good spirits and not too clapped out. The descent could have proved to be more than challenging, pretty much direct downhill through the forest, but the forest cover meant there was no ice to worry us and the descent was easy. We reached the valley bottom, lakeside, after stunning alpine views all the way down.
