A Day OF Rest(ish)?

A travel blog entry by shearers

Don't let all this talk of German roads being great fool you.
Todays mini problem (just sharing, not complaining) was the many hold ups on the road, mainly due to roadworks. The current trend is for me to get the bad weather and Liz the traffic jams?
That and the often mad drivers just forcing their way out or in does give some minor stress.
So, 180 miles took from 11 until 17:00, poo!

... free app on a Samsung device which works sometimes and Google maps on an iPod which usually disappears when out of wifi range. We knew which direction to head and Sheila decides there is nothing like local knowledge and asks the receptionist how to head towards Rothenburg! Body failure: Jimbo's ITB is a bit sore, commencing mass stretching... For our second day of riding we were aiming for Schillingsfurst. This was 80km away and set us ...

We eventually got out of this part of the city by following the tram tracks and the GPS map. There was a really cool bridge over the Main river, we went over as a barge passed underneath, with about 20cm clearance on each side of it from the lock it was passing through. From there the road took us through ...

Wonderful Wurzburg

A travel blog entry by kimrobbie

... I had goulash with homemade dumplings and Rob had a salad with all sorts of veggies and chicken. It was the best meal we have had on holidays and we are finding things are cheaper here than Holland, France and the UK. Rob especially enjoyed the 2 beers he had (that equalled a volume of about 1 litre), so lucky we don't have to drive anywhere tonight. Tomorrow we are starting our journey down the Romantic Road to Nordlingen. Auf ...
