Beautiful walled village in Franconia. We drove through stunning scenery and arrived to glorious sunshine. We walked the perimeter wall and the charming cobbled streets of this picturesque hamlet. Spent the evening sampling regional wursts and beer. We chatted long into the evening with a delightful German couple, who Brenton may have invited to Adelaide for a holiday! This village was certainly one of the highlights of our trip so ...

... cobblestone streets, and flower filled window boxes. The town is home to the famous and original Katherine Wohlfahrt Christmas Store. This was an amazing store with its collections of Xmas tree decorations, cribs, and historic Father Xmas figures. Rothenburg boasts beautiful preserved medieval architecture and ruins. The town is a lot like Miltenberg full of character and charm. We return to the ship for lunch. At ...

Like a sucker, I stood there with my camera filming thinking we would see some thing like Pirates of the Caribbean. Not. Went to the criminal museum. Jeff thought it ...

This morning after eating breakfast and packing up we grabbed some tea & croissants from the local bakery and drove to Wurzburg.
We drove around the town then walked through the Christmas markets. It was a nice town. We ate lunch at a cafe and then jumped back in the car to keep discovering the Romantic Road.
The drive through the country side was beautiful and the towns we passed through were all so lovely.

Fri Oct 24 Staying with the family. Woke up this morning feeling horrid so opted to spend the day in bed. Rob is fine so he headed off for some sightseeing, into Nuremburg and the to Gabbys parents for lunch. I got up about 3pm, felt a bit better but didn't last long. Back into bed at 8pm. Rob went to a soccer match in the evening, Furth against Frankfurt, with the boys, their team didn't win unfortunately :(, but they all had a few beers and a great time ...
