... of the town, Topper, saved the town from invading hordes by winning an impossible challenge. He drank 3 litres of wine in one go! He saved the town and then slept for three days. Good work!

We did sample a local treat the 'sneeballen' – a pastry covered in a sweet covering. The boys are determined to sample all sugar based ...

Although we're on a train to Munich, I wanted to write about our day in Rothenburg (located in Franconia) yesterday. We started out with a terrific breakfast the hotel put on. Breads, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, sausage, eggs, and more were on the breakfast buffet along with some great coffee. Then we headed for the medieval wall which has a walkway on top. It was foggy, ...

... a few of the sights for ourselves. First we checked out the Käthe Wolfhart store just to say that we had been inside. It was a tiny shop front which was very deceiving because it just kept going and going and going! Talk about a Christmas maze, I mentioned to Steffie that it would be a good setting for a creepy horror movie! Thankfully we escaped with our lives and headed down to the Burggarten for a view out over the Tauber River which is more like a brook than ...
