We bought tickets to this ahead of time, and spent nearly 12 hours at Versailles on Saturday to fit it all in! A ...

... French where the “eau” was, and telling her we were from “Australie” so we didn’t speak French haha. It didn’t really work, but she was telling us in very rapid French (combined with lots of miming and grabbing our bags), to be careful of pickpockets and told us to keep our bags close. Bless her. We eventually found our hostel, it sat right next to the canal and we managed to score a room that didn’t have bunk beds! ...
