Every year when March rolls around we can't wait to head to Vermont's best kept secret - Bolton Valley. This year we are glad to have the Casey family joining us for the trip. The temperature at Bolton has stayed on the cool side and the conditions are supposed to be great. We will know soon enough.
... which is named after Admiral Horatio Nelson who sailed into the English Bay harbour in 1784. This is quite the fort because it is protected from rough waters especially in hurricane season. Ships are still refurbished here. There is a big wheel that turns the ship on its side so barnicals can be scraped off the bottom and some of the wood replaced if and when needed. To refurbish a ship took about 6 months.

... There are numerous bays here offering beautiful views and Leonard Rockefeller has quite the resort area on Caneel Bay.
St. John and St. Thomas have retained the British tradition of driving on the opposite side of the road .
We worked our way around the isalnd back to the dock driving past the hospital (It has 6 rooms and 12 beds used for surgery only). The hospital is named after the first midwife back in the 1800s.

We've completed the second leg of our meander: 240 miles and 42 locks of the Trent Severn Waterway. Our last day on the waterway saw us go through 7 locks including lock 1 and enter the Bay of Quinte that will takes us across the northeastern part of Lake Ontario. ... carry on to Cairo to complete our trip that was interrupted a few years ago but, for some strange reason, 100% of friends and family members voted that option down. Instead we plan to carry on to Bruges, Belgium for 5 days and Amsterdam for 3 days.
I'm not sure how many postings we will manage. I think the first week chasing after two 30 year olds may result in crashing in the evening.
