Snow to Desert

... try and dress like the local people. It will be warm there. I'm glad for that as here in Arizona in the desert no less we have had a lot of rain today and a lot of snow in the North. It is just hard to beleive the weather here. Every so often a siginal comes on the TV with a notice of the weather.

A Rib Ticklin', Knee Slappin', Good Time

... story of how Melissa and her boyfriend were named Homecoming King and Queen of their high school here in Mesa.

Melissa stood up and did her Miss America wave to everyone with this great Daisy smile--
I mean... think Daisy with a red cowboy hat and jeans and you have this girl.

Made me tear up, dang it.

Oh, and when we walked in they gave us each a little gift--me a bright blue boa and Bob a western tie. Oh yea, we were cute. You don't ...

... s a great way to get the people who use the place to help pay for it, but it's certainly a cumbersome procedure. We're going to backtrack down the mountain to buy a pass for a parking lot we're in NOW?

I don't think so.

There are no drop boxes here like there are in campgrounds in Montana. Maybe they have more danger of vandalism and theft, I don't know the reason, but the system is screwy.

Thanksgiving Day! And Thanksgiving Day Sales :)

... get something, Fred had to go back to Toys R Us to get something, and I volunteered to brave Walmart to get Janine's girls some motorised bikes that were a huge bargain at only $50. By the time Janine and I found the aisle that had the bikes, quite a few people were standing by the pallets which they were stacked on and had claimed 'x' amount for themselves. Janine found a nice young guy and his girlfriend who said that would save us one, and at 4.40am ...

Uh, yeah, more driving today

Yummy breakfast this morning with the State of Texas shaped waffles – heh heh. Naturally Fred, Josh & I had to sample them!

Hit the road by 9am and drove straight to Wilcox, Arizona where we had a rather disappointing lunch at a local Burger Joint called 'Carters' – cost us $25 for the four of us, and that was 3 small burgers (tiny by U.S size standards), 2 ...

Day 18 - Arizona State Apache Junction

... Main st then called Apache Boulevard. If any person is contemplating doing what we are doing and wants to buy an RV then fly into Phoenix and drive down this road. I kid you not there are acres of them covering all shapes and sizes. Earnie spotted one price of a similar type to "the Castle" at around $15,000, as we passed, not a mean feat considering most do not display prices and the number along the road, it was amazing. Earnie reckons there is close to the same number of RV's in ...

... posts. Megan left last night around 11pm. Dan and I dropped her off at the airport a little after 9 and I got a message from her this morning that she arrived home on time and in one piece. I'm so grateful that she was able to join me for the first leg of my trip. She found herself speechless on more than one occasion with the beautiful parks we visited along the way and here in Arizona. She got to see the Grand Canyon - the first in her family - and says seeing something that ...

Licensing

As you might know it can sometimes be difficult as a woman to minister in other countries. For the most part, women don't have the same legal or spiritual freedoms in these developing countries. To help compensate for that I am getting licensed today as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a very awesome and a little intimidating of a thing. It's awesome to know that God trusts me and intimidating because we tend to not see ourselves the ...
