... Jason and I biked to the market in the Hui Muslim area of the city which is just a few blocks from their new apartment. Christa needed eggs and they weren't sure if they were available in that area, but Jason asked a few questions, and we found the booth selling eggs. He also bought ground beef. You pick out the piece of meat that you want them to grind up. It is all laying out on tables - no refrigeration.
Today was the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday which celebrates the full moon. There was no school, so we were invited to join some Chinese families and spend the day at the Shenyang Expo Botanical Gardens. It is about a 45 min. drive from our apartment. We spent much of the day "hanging out" at the children's playground and by the bridges. English is usually written under the Chinese, and the translations are quite interesting! ...

Saturday morning was my first bike adventure for this year. The new apartment is in a very busy area we were competing with scooters, pedestrians, other bikers and cars. We went to Tesco and came home with our bikes loaded with groceries.
