... by a roomful of awesome and creative women, a dinner party, 2 Xmas parties and 2 New Year’s parties. The New Year’s Eve event ended with a fireworks display over the bridge, put on by the local fire chief who used confiscated fireworks. Not bad for a tiny town of 1000+. I also went to the hilarious Xmas Parade of Lights in Guerneville, worked 4 special events at the theater, and scoped out some local music venues over cocktails with new friends. That ...

... is YuckEEEEEE!

Before that my neighbor Harry, burst a pipe in his yard and Dave dug down and fixed it for him. Harry couldn’t do it himself as he is waiting for hernia surgery, but he has repaid us by bringing us many yummy pastry treats from his favorite bakeries. Awesome! Needless to say, there will be no weight lost on this trip…

My new little kitchen space has worked out very nicely, and I am considering pulling out ...

... Some of my neighbors are only here for vacations, or for the summer, but others are year-rounders. It’s an interesting mix of old timers, yuppie types, upwardly mobile gays and section 8’ers. The businesses are failing, but the homes are getting rehabbed nicely. My next-door neighbor, who works for the forest service, came by the other day and said “ Hey, since I have my chain saw out, want me to cut some of these branches back for ...
