2015 : All Shiny and New!

... in January. At that point, weather permitting, he will finish the new deck and a few other little things around here and we can call this place done. Amazing. Although, knowing Dave this place will never be “done” for him. He will always find some little thing that needs doodling. He even donated his services to do a rewiring project at the theater. Can’t help himself… just has to be awesome!

Mini beach holiday

... to blend in with surrounding landscape, there are many access points to the beach and a small town eight miles from where the Thornhill's house is.

We made a brief stop in Petaluma before winding our way up the coast. The last 80kms is very windy, we are so lucky to have kids that don't get affected by car sickness or it could have been a very slow difficult journey. We were really pleased to arrive and be greeted by Henry and Kathy.

... but it is now my home. Amazing, terrifying, beautiful and unbelievable, here I sit looking at the trees and wondering how on earth I will survive. I have no job or money, but I have hope that it will all come together.

Before that my neighbor Harry, burst a pipe in his yard and Dave dug down and fixed it for him. Harry couldn’t do it himself as he is waiting for hernia surgery, but he has repaid us by bringing us many yummy pastry treats from his favorite bakeries. Awesome! Needless to say, there will be no weight lost on this trip…

My new little kitchen space has worked out very nicely, and I am considering pulling out ...

... It looked a lot like a fanciful building from some science fiction movie. Did some shopping at a wonderful store in Gulala and then fixed ourselves a sandwich looking out over the ocean.

Where the Russian River runs into the ocean, there is a area where the seals have hauled themselves out and people were watching them. This is a beautiful area and we also drove down to the beach area ...
