... to start in San Marino though. It's a couple of euros cheaper to catch a bus to the Italian town of Pietracuta on the other side of San Marino--then I can walk to the mini-country from there. So I'm off... leaving the overdeveloped coastland behind, and into the hill country where I soon spot a hilltop castle... then another... Yep. Don't look at the road or the power lines and you might be able to convince yourself that this is 1413 rather ...

Off to the superbikes at Imola ...

I was surprised that we couldn't see San Marino for quite a significant part of the ride. I expected to be able to see a mountain from afar. When we did see it- wow. It's this huge cliff that just juts out.

Our first couple of nights in Greece were spent in a place called Alexandroupolis where we had found a campground that was open, which turned out to be a bit of a wonder in Greece, but it gave us the time to have an admin day, catch up on emails, blogs and also to do some washing.

Whilst there, we also caught up with some of the Dutchies that we had met in Turkey (travelling in an off-road expedition truck) and also met some Germans who were on their way ...
