Our luck with night buses came to an end when we hopped on the bus from Merida to Chiquila - imagine six hours (between 11:30pm and 5:30am) of super loud and intense hardcore techno, freezing air conditioning and stops every half hour to let people on and off which also meant turning all the lights on and off.
