... we stumbled upon one of the nicest markets in our travels. We sipped on our liquados (freshly made fruit juice blended with ice) from one of the many venders offering juices such as guava, lucuma, chirymoya, and mango, as we watched the energy of the market. Our next destination was to the famous, Nazca lines, just outside the town of Nazca. The lines are etchings created in the desert floor from the pre-Incan Nazca civilization. ... burial sites of human sacrifices to the mountain gods. One sacrifice was a 12 year old girl now referred to as Juanita. She was basically frozen in the freezing temperatures on the top of the mountain and is so well preserved that you can see the skin on her hands and she still has hair and most of her bodily organs. It was incredible! She is now kept in a box at -20 degrees to preserve her. They also found two other burial sites, both ...
