... bridge tender called us on 09 VHF and said that traffic was light and he'd be happy to let us pass! Of course, we were thrilled to accept his considerate offer. For any bridge -- and especially this one, with a nasty reputation for its sometimes surly operators -- such considerations are rare. Thank you, kind sir! (Tip of the hat)

... way to the Hwy 17 bridge at 8+ knots in the favorable breeze. Maggie did several stints at the helm and is getting the knack of handling the boat. She seems much more at ease doing this now and her earlier tentativeness has been replaced with confidence.

It was 23degrees Celsius and we didn't know what to do with ourselves. We spent the morning sitting in our beach chairs in our jeans enjoying the sound of the waves and reading our books.
