I talked to you the other day about the horrible conditions of our room at the Tidelands Caribbean hotel and suites.
We stayed at this hotel from September 10, 2009 till September 13, 2009; our room number was 318 Ocean block.

... had gone North first, all would have been good. We saw the ponies up close, and a white tail deer grazing. The deer was wearing a collar.
Back to the bus by 4:30. I sat out and read a while, had dinner in the coach, and light rain began at 7PM.
We leave tomorrow for the Outer Banks of North Carolina. See you there.

I ended up staying over in SeaTac (actually the name of the city right outside the airport) for the night because I didn't want to get into BWI too late since it will be a 2-3 hour drive to Lewes. Today we try and use up all the leftover food and so an eclectic menu of sorts. No beach but will go poolside. Sam is much better at his "swimming" and moves about the pool with much less anxiety. William seems to like the water too. We continue to try and eat our way out of leftovers so we won't have too much to throw out ...
And so we are back at the beach which looks the same. Mild mishap with Sam getting some sand in his eyes but lucky for him his dad is an eye guy. Lunch back at home with Dan grilling up some hotdogs, sausage, shrimp and corn. Ben was off to practice with Dan and family off to visit their friends. We had dinner at Espuma which was very good and as bonus was close ...

The beachfront location is lovely and very near many of our favorite boardwalk locations. The hotel staff make "daily deals" depending on the occupancy, so if you book and guarantee the room for the number of days you want, you can save. Conversely, you can end up paying more per night than the daily quote to a new occupant. One night someone set off a fire alarm in the middle of the night and everyone had to stand on the beach for hours while it was checked. Last summer the hotel had no ice for 2-3 days (in July).
We stayed for one night and it doesn't even sound like the same hotel that is getting bad reviews. The rooms were very clean and spacious as well as the rest of the hotel. Maybe it depends what kind of room you stay in. We were in a 2 king sweet. I also thought the staff was very nice. They let us check out the room before commiting to it. I would go there again. The only reason I'm not giving it an excellent rating is because i was only there one night.

only 2 years old, 2003 and 2004- they look as if
they are 30 years old inside!!!
i agree with all the others about management-
THERE IS NONE!! just young kids. they have NO
rules to whom they rent to- definitely NOT for
and for prime season, with taxes, $300. a night
- take off the zero's and that's about what it is
All workers are foreign as well, their definition of
clean and mine are two very different things!!
Tidelands - would recommend
I was mortified to check into this hotel after I read the reviews, however, our trip was already booked so we took the chance. The rooms were clean, and roomy. The pool area was nice and the staff was very pleasant. The only problem we encountered was one night out of the three nights we stayed there the people next door were in their room being very loud and woke us up (it was 3:00 a.m.), I contacted the front desk and they took care of it. We stayed on the 5th floor oceanview and the view was great. I would recommend it - we had no bad experience with it and would actually not hesitate to stay there again.

Hotel management horrible. The mananger is very cocky becauce it is obvious they are no good rooms are dirty they claimed they were cleaned and they swipped my card twice. BAD experience
These same people run the crap hole The Ambassador just as bad if not worse.
Not Worth A Dime!
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.... Upon arrival, room was not fully cleaned. No blankets/pillows on beds. Mildew all over bathroom and room celings. Room was extremely rundown. We had to make numerous requests to front desk. Many of Deck chairs at pool area were broken. We had to check out early and they refused to refunds any $$. Definitely not worth the money they charge!
Terrible customer service
we initially made a reservation for this hotel online and after reading the terrible reviews canceled our reservation and were told we would recieve a refund within 10 days on our credit card. 45 days later and a million phone calls and the "manager" who is the only one who apparantly can refund the $$ is no where to be found. no one is helpful, knows anything or can do anything about it. we are still short $305 and are now scrambling to come up with the remainder of the money for our vacation plans. this hotel is a ripoff, and i would recommend never staying here as i have since found out from personal references that everything negative found on the website is absolutely true.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN !!
The only reason I give this hole-tel one "star" is that there is no option for none. This is the absolute worst place I have ever stayed anywhere. The staff is rude, the rooms are dirty, there is no place to park, and these are the good points. You have to pay for your room, IN CASH and IN ADVANCE before you can get your room key. The air conditioner in the room had two speeds, on and off. The balcony hasn't been cleaned since Nixon was President, the rooms stink both literally and figuratively, there is sand on the floor and in the beds, and you can hear any converstions (and other activities) in the rooms on either side, above and below. Stay FAR, FAR away from this place.
Upon arriving, the room was absolutely filthy...wanted to sit on the balcony but porch furniture was covered in bird poop,,had to move chairs from the room outside..after dinner that night, arrived back at the place and not a parking spot to be found..the desk clerk was totally confused and told us just to park right under the check in awning...my husband took a walk around the lot and found many cars without parking permits and cars were even parked in the fire lanes!! We finally called the police to report this violation...finally got a spot about 2 hours later after much complaining...the desk clerk said the fire lanes are used every night for parking so if the place catches fire, good luck! I was paying about $200.00 a night and no place to park...go figure..the manager was extremely nasty...BEWARE of this place unless you have money to burn!!! (Pun intended)
Avoid this place!
Stayed here on 6/19/04. Animal House! Teenage guests partying out of control! We checked OUT at midnight. Managed after hours by teen staff (who seemed helpless to react to their out-of-control guests). The hotel's receipt (upon check-in) clearly marked ALL SALES FINAL, ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS. Called Hotel Manager the next morning... he refused to issue a refund (but offered a "credit" valid for a future visit). He was quick to point out the noisy guests were evicted at 2:30 AM.
We back HOME by that time! "Happy Father's Day, pal." Avoid this place!
