    ... us out and we looked forward to an easier decent, the cloud didn't quite clear all the way down and the rain started about an hour and a half away from our hotel but it was still a great walk, 12 miles in total but with a 1000 metres of accent in that time. We were quite chuffed with ourselves, and neither of us are feeling sore or stiff today so that is even better :)

    ... carrying a huge bundle on her back. In her left hand was a pass which she held up to an obviously bored customs agent. More porters followed and I watched with mild interest. Most were female, many old, all carrying bundles of this and that with their head straps. Suddenly I saw my luggage on top of another whatever-tarian, and more and more camp gear and luggage behind. All those people on the road were porters,waiting for work! Trucks are not allowed to cross the Tibet/Nepal border. ...

  • How almost everyone is so sick and coughing and making meditation almost impossible because its so ***********centrate.
  • The sound of our voices chanting the mantras.
  • Breakfast - porridge, biscuits and bananas. Lunch - dahl, rice and vegetables. Dinner - soup and biscuits.

    ... and we got to play with hundreds of very cute and excited children. Claire managed to get some games going and they loved it. At one point 4 male teachers(including the Head) walked past and we stopped expecting to talk to them, they just kept walking without acknowledging us.
