BAD NEWS!
So far everything has been going swimmingly, the right stamps issued by the right departments, just one more to get, and Ted rang to say he wants to meet at Gregs apartment...
The last government department said NO to Teds application to sponsor a Z visa and residence permit application. No explanation, I meet or exceed their requirements, no reasons listed for the declined application... Just No.
So I am on a job hunt again!

Arrival at last.
... relating to my new job. Ted was happy when he came back to the car with them.
Ended up in Fenghua a half hour drive south of Ningbo where the school is located. My new workplace is a franchise branch of the Shanes English Schools network. I have a little one room apartment until the teacher I am replacing leaves and I move into his emptied apartment.

Sleepy Time for Hoopie
... 26 hours of traveling. When I arrived Sylvie and I had to roll my 50 lbs suitcases through her winding housing complex which ended up being just laughable as well as a pain in the butt. I'm told that this is the hottest week of summer they have had thus far in Ningbo. It's super humid and I've had a nice sticky layer since I got here.

Yo, Hangzhou
So I went to Hangzhou yesterday. It was pretty damn cool. I got up fairly early, and arrived at the train station with half an hour to spare. At the Tianjin railway station, this would have been plenty of time. At the Ningbo Railway station, not so much. Tianjin is a Tier 1 city, Ningbo Tier 2. I've never seen a comprehensive and clear description of the Chinese Tier system (it's not official or anything) but train stations are one of those things that ...
Big ol' Ningbo Update
... hospital. The mood in that ambulance improved dramatically after the medic basically said that she was doing just fine. Her wrist and hand was swelling up pretty bad by this point, and there were blood vessels broken along her left side, but she had no head trauma, and the rest of her body was fine. What followed was an interesting insight into the differences between American and Chinese medical care.
The ambulance ride was paid for right after it was over. ...
