... are quite busy and we easily found our way to a nearby restaurant area, finally choosing a Japanese restaurant (of all things!). Every time someone arrives or leaves the restaurant all of the workers shout something. It sounds remarkably like 'merry Ex-mas' but we have serious doubts that is what they are saying.

The food is fabulous and cheap (around $15 for the two of us).

Now it's off to rest our weary heads for a full on day of sightseeing ...

Yea, I dont believe a word of that!

... for the day... Do people revolt because they want to improve their own conditions? Or do people revolt because they see a difference in socio-economic status and want to prevent the gap from growing? Or is just a quest to prevent someone worse from gaining power? Every Wednesday, because I have orchestra rehearsal, I carry my viola to work and go straight to our rehearsal space by Jing'An Temple at 6:15. I'd listened to classic Christmas songs all day and was bumping along, happy as a clam, when I saw something that made me, if possible, giddier than I already was: an electric Christmas tree outside of Jing'An Temple! Then we walked along, drinking in the sights. One thing was sold a lot in Shanghai (I didn't see it very much in other places) was the lotus seed pod. I guess they're eaten. I'm not entirely sure.

... a pic of our favorite shishkabob dude that we get our veggies from. Each veggie stick is about 1 yuan, which is nothing. And amazingly delish. We eat constantly, so no worries!
