    After a very interesting flight where I was the only western person inside the aircraft, I finally arrived in China landing in Tianjin. The cheapest entry point in the Beijing area. From here, I'm only 1hr away from the capital on a 'bullet train'.

    Having finished 3 months of boredom and Chinese studying in Qingdao on the 23rd of December I hopped on a bullet train on Christmas eve to spend Christmas with my buds in Tianjin.

    So we didn't spend much time here. Flew into Beijing then went on a 2 hour or so car ride down to Tianjin. It was very commercialized buildings that were all mainly empty. Like a yet to be popularized empty town - eerie. Mel says there's nothing here but I would love to go check out the old city. We stayed in the newer part near a big (empty) ...

    ... in the other meals, but each one was beautifully presented and tasty. It seems there is a never-ending list of varieties of Chinese food to be found in Tianjin. Similar to the evening before, there was the "Chinese wine" spirit poured and many toasts occurred. My water goblet was also kept full of tsingtao beer.
