... Randy's grandmother was living in a different city last time I visited, so I got to meet her for the first time this trip. She's the cutest! I only had three days in Tianshui, which went by too quickly, but it was a really nice visit.
I'm sure I've mentioned before how busy this semester has been for me, but it's quickly coming to an end. I only have two more weeks of classes before I'll be giving final exams. I have almost 400 students and most of them ...

So this 2night stop over was purely to see the sacred mountain Maji Shan. It turned out to be the nicest food we've had with some really friendly people and some hilarious moments with the English-Chinese barriers.

Ordering an omelette was hard going, but we managed it (see the story on the food pic).
Getting a room was also tough.
Then forgetting to take a business card of our ...

... the same dish but this time instead of the noodles we decided on egg. But where was an egg dish when we needed to point?? The previous night they had found it quite shocking we (Westerners) were there and found us quite amusing, but that was nothing compared to this night. So we ordered the dish we knew and then tried to do some actions of cracking and frying an egg much to the woman's confusion. This ...

... daughter something. She re-appears with an egg! Finally :-) but bloody hilarious!

We then went back and chilled out for the evening with films before our full day of bus travel the following day!

Cool little place though, lots of cute little streets that felt much more local and traditional than anywhere we've been so far in china :-)

          P.s - no injuries!! I think I'm doing really well :-)

... kata (Judo sequences). The day before I spent an hour or so translating relevant Judo terms into Chinese. Body parts and stuff are easy, but Japanese terms such as seiryoku (maximum efficiency) and kata are more difficult. I spent some time trying to figure out whether the coaches know any kata. I show them a few throws from nagenokata. They knew the techniques, but they either don't know what kata is or just don't practice it. I wish I had the words both in English and ...
