... time last year. Richard, the centre principal, had been delayed in the USA after a conference but the staff were great and really welcomed us in. After the new year I found out that my visa had been cancelled without my knowledge and I was illegally in the country. So, the next day, I was eager to get going to Shanghai. Didn't have my guide anymore, and had to find my own way. Oh well. So, Tina drove me in her car! to the bus station, bought my ticket, and I was off!

On the trip I crossed the largest bridge in the world, and it was really impressive. A good trip to Shanghai!

We left Yuhuan on Tuesday morning and began the 4 hour drive to Ningbo (宁波), arriving in the early afternoon at the Lao Huai Shu Hotel. We had lunch when we arrived and then we were given a bit of free time before we had to report for the concert. I took the opportunity to get out of the hotel and went for a walk along the Yuyao river (余姚江).
