I traveled to Ningbo on Monday evening after the English Subject Panel had finished.

I met Will at breakfast in the Citic Hotel on Tuesday morning and we went out to Ningbo Foreign Language School, which is one of my centres. The school is built in an amazing location in the south-east of Ningbo, surrounded by mountains and with a beautiful lake on site.

The staff here are all lovely. I had only been to this centre once before with Liz and Mary ...

My conversations with my host family consist of them shouting random English words that they found on the internet. “MANGO, DINNER, STRAWBERRY, BAMBOO SHOOTS.” Most of them are the foods that we are eating. I just nod my head and say yes this is a mango! Im craving conversation. I’m even willing to have a conversation with somebody about what differentiates organic and ...

... a free hour each night. This was completely unfair but I let it happen. After speaking to Alex and her host mother, they convinced me that this was not fair to me and that I need to stand up for myself. When I returned home I walked up to the schedule board and said I NEED THIS DAY OFF. My host mom was not happy but I told the daughter that it was illegal to make me work that much without a day off and she finally agreed. It took all of the Brooklyn in me to not let her ...
