Storgaten 25, (formerly Tulip Inn Rainbow Hotel) Lillestrom, Oslo, Norway, 2000, 47-66-93-63-30
... of service train that wasn't moving; it looks as if it had failed half-way up. Once passed we crossed back to the right road and continued the climb. The view from the top was magnificent and Steve and I went for a walk to better appreciate the area. Locals were skiing through forested sections, no doubt to join the train again at a lower station to be returned to the top. The journey back down was less disrupted although it looks like the system as a whole was still not ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway v1213... drinks are a bit exxie in Scandinavia. Boarded the flight for Oslo which was one of the least crowded flights I have ever been on. Maybe people had heard about our driver who performed the worst take off and didn't get it under control for about a min just wobbling around all over the place. The rest of our exchanged money bought us a hot dog to split (we didn't have enough for a sandwich) and we spent the rest of the time watching Seinfeld episodes on the lap ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway leahandgreg... but I didn't experience this at all. Apart from being located near to a few seedy strip joints, it was fine. Also it was free of the 'great' hostel experience - bunk beds. Luxury to have your own bed! On the minus side, one toilet to each floor? WTF? Actually each floor had two but with the signage I wasn't taking any chances. (see pics) At around 6, I went for a wander, the main purposes of which were a) to find a ...
Oslo, Norway emmab... with multiple individuals. One of my favorites here is the "swarm of babies." My favorite of all of them is "man and woman sitting with baby between them." and then my second or third favorite is "boy and girl riding on woman's back" using her pig-tails as a "bridal." Please, if you ever get to Oslo, you have to take the bus, or cab, or something to get to this park, as it is not within close walking distance of the port. Many Best Wishes, all. bob a"
Oslo, Oslo, Norway ohiolairso this morning i got up and had breakfast at my hotel-4 bed shared room (was included in price!) there was a buffet of sorts of different things to choose from, boiled eggs, cereals, hams & salamis and breads, liverwurst looking spread, picked beats, bread and butter tasting pickles, of course those funny stinky fish (Herring or sardines or something in 3 diff. types of sauces...of course i did not try that...hahaha) and mayo type spreads. was a fun breakfast ...
Oslo, Norway ritand... our own beauty and youth. Statues of babies were also incorporated in some of the 58 sculptures along this bridge, particularly the famous Sinnataggen or the "angry baby boy", whose little tantrum-clenched fist had been rubbed bright yellow by the millions of visitors throughout the decades. The bridge was flanked on each opening by the marble images ...

Bergen, Norway minna_n... fare!) for a 15min ride, we found our way to our stop and eventually ran into our ride. He turned out to be another one of the volunteers at the farm we would be staying at. There were about 10 of us in total, all from different countries. A Greek guy, an English guy, a couple of German girls, a French Canadian, a Dutch couple, and a Norwegian girl who was there for schooling reasons, plus the owners and their little girl. We got the grand ...
Fetsund, Norway dangabesisaakBack in Oslo we still had a lot to do. Everywhere we went was either on the bus or train. There were short walks to both. As I mentioned before, all the streets, at least up where B and A lived, were snow packed. Snow had been plowed off the streets, and was piled shoulder deep or higher on the sides of the road. I would like to say I got better about walking on the slippery streets and perilous paths while I was there, but it was pretty well into the trip when we went shopping and ...
