... asking for the equivalent of US$8.00 for the fare which could just have been $3-4 if he has taken the honest route.

Taxi drivers in every city of the world can spot a first-timer in town and to avoid getting into trouble just can't argue with what he has on his meter.

Checked-in the Majestic Hotel.

If you have to take a taxi in this city, as far as possible, stick to SAIGON TOURIST,MAI LINH and VINASUN, which are reputedly more reliable.

... for your life. Also, there is no system for crossing the street as a pedestrian. You basically start walking and they swerve around you. I tried to skype some people, but seeing how it was noon here and midnight on a Friday night back home it was hard to reach people. We got packed like sardines in the shuttle to the airport. Literally, there was a guy in the shuttle from Texas and he had a Vietnamese woman on his lap for most of the ride. It was ridiculous. That night I went out ...

... out to meet us. It looked mental, a collapsed girl was carried out just as Charlie emerged. Next stop was the Go Go bar, another club that was fairly mobbed. We were having a great time until I (JB) went up to the bar to get a few beers. There was a group of local girls/hookers and an Aussie guy at the bar. On being served my beers I was in the process of putting my wallet in my bag when one of the girls made a grab for one of the beers. As I stopped her ...

about 200km of tunnels over the area. The majority of which are still
in their original size. First stop on the tour was to a fox hole, which
a local climbed into. We then had a go each - I only just about fitted
in there when I breathed in! We then went round to see some of the
other tunnel entrances and also the different types of booby trap the
VC used. From there it was off to the shooting range! They ...

He had played the role of a communications officer in the war, so had tons of personally experienced information about the war and he really liked us because we were from California.

... and help me it appeared that the robbers were now long gone. 2 hours in a police station we had done everything we could - we left Nha Trang as soon as we could.

After Nha Trang we headed to the central highlands to the city of Dalat. Dalat is a place that feels a completely different world away from anywhere else in Vietnam. Some say its like a french town in the Alpes, the temperature was much cooler.....AHHHH AMAZING! so good not to be sweating every few ...

Some mutated fetuses were also on display. This sight along with the torture section at the end was too much for us.
The next day we left for Hoi An on our first sleeper b*s.
