"Out of Africa" roars The Lion King

We survived and had a great time at the game reserve searching out the 'Big 5'. Leopard proved elusive though we did have some great sightings of a cheetah and her 2 cubs which more than made up for it.
We also managed to catch a sighiting of the only 2 lions on the game reserve on both our first and last day. The male is a massive fella (as you can see from the pic of ...

The Rasmus Dahlbom Memorial Tour

... at samle os op.

Stop Over

... because when I came out, the bus was driving off!!!! I could not believe it - I had to run to catch up and some people saw me so the driver eventually stopped. That was way too intense for the way I was feeling!!! People had just assumed, I had left as they use services station as pick up and drop off points!!

We changed driver at some point and the new one was called Patrick ...

My First Entry

... Once getting into African areospace all i could do was to look out the window at the vast beauty, and this place was vast! This stunning nation has barely any towns or cities that i could see flying over, and all i could think was that there is such a need for people to develop or at least experience this coninent. Landed in Jo'burg and got fondled for my first time, and had my hand luggage thrown all over the floor, was not ...

... lots of questions for me. I later found out from Monica that he hasn't talked to anyone for the past five years or so and usually just sits in bed staring into space. But something made him want to talk to me. Monica said that he sensed that I was someone worth talking to. I was flattered, of course. Some of the questions he asked me, though, were a bit peculiar. For example, he said, "Randy - is it true that there is an animal in America that cuts down trees with ...

Garden Route Part 2

... We arrived later at J-Bay a lot later than we had intended (meaning I didn't get to go to the O'Neil/Quicksilver discount stores - boo...) and the weather wasn't particularly great so no-one was sufing either...a shame as I would have loved to have surfed J-Bay. We pitched up in a great hostel (making sure our tent was a bit more secure as we were overlooking a beach again and the weather didn't seem that great). We then proceeded to get ...

Week 3

... to bat; however they would have probably won. We were meant to go bungy jumping today at Storm river bridge, it is the higgest in the World, but strong winds stopped us. If the weather improves we'll try agian next week, I think I must be mad even to contemplate doing it, but might as well have a go. That's about all for now. Take it easy to all. James

Die tiefen Waelder von Hogsback

Elephants Everywhere

... shame. I started to think that we would have the same bad luck as we drove and drove seeing only a few baby warthogs. There were heaps (excuse the pun) of evidence on the road that there were elephants present but we just drove around and around to no avail. We were getting a bit dicouraged so I climbed onto the roof of the car hoping to act as an elephant antenna (or to boost our spirits with a few laughs) and it worked! Not only were we crying we were ...
