Woke up this morning and went downstairs to a lovely breakfast! Full Scottish breakfast again with cereals, breads and yogurt. Finally we get a decent tasting cup of coffee! We eat, pack up and get on the road. Today our journey takes us from Inverness to Pitlochry. We first stop at the Culliden Battlefield. We are pulling into the parking lot and we immediately see 3 highland cows right by the road and I jump out of the car! We have been waiting this whole time to get close ...

Beautiful views of Alnwick Castle as we left. Took the A1 to Scotland. Drove through Edinburgh but couldn't find a park (GPS takes you to the centre and we needed to do more research). So decided to drive on up to St. Andrews over the Forth Bridge. Once there, parked in the Main Street and found a little cafe for lunch. While walking through the town came across the Russell hotel at ...

We started out today with a wonderful breakfast at the Braeval Hotel in Nairn. I'm sure the waitress there thought we were pigs with the amount of food we consumed for breakfast! We then packed up the van, took a quick walk on the beach and headed out towards Loch Ness! Katie and I went through the exhibition, while Kyleigh read in the cafe since she had been there before. I'm glad we went but understand why Kyleigh wouldn't want to pay for a second time. We had a quick stop in ...

... our fairway! You definitely had to keep your head up and always make sure you were hitting your ball and not someone else's. I loved it, what a neat experience. I think the nerves got the better of us all hitting on the 18th hole into the crowds of people standing around watching. We didn't score badly but didn't bring our "A" game either. After the round we had to change hotels to another one just down the street. This hotel is fancy schmancy and ...

The Fife Coast Path, Part II

It was the last day of the Edinburgh Fringe, which we haven't yet got to, so obviously that's the thing to do on a damp and misty Sunday. So off we bundled, got a nice convenient bus to Leuchars... and found that we would be waiting over an hour and a half for the next train to Edinburgh. A nice local saw us looking distraught and said, a bit apologetically, "yes, Sunday service." Those bloody Scots, expecting us all to go to ...
