Well, we decided to try something different today - with mixed results. We had decided that we wanted to experience a Highland Games while here in Scotland. It was kind of a turkey shoot as to which one to go to - but Perth fit the date and bragged well about itself on-line!!
To get there on time for the events to begin, we had to forego the train at the beginning of the day (no early trains on Sunday) and take an Intercity Coach. All the ...

(Can black-frozen broad beans be fed to livestock, perhaps?) But the boundary of the field was no longer a nice stone wall, but a fierce thicket of gorse, which is hard and very prickly, scratching even through clothing. And the ...

It's another 'moving on' day. We pack up in reasonable weather and are on the road by nine. Our route today takes us across the edge of the Grampians which causes Ian to be a grumpy-ian. Who gave those cyclists permission to use this road? It's a B road - pretty steep and also narrow - and totally impossible to overtake two puffing cyclists peddling side by side. Ian slows down and we lose our momentum. Ian is not happy :-( We overtake when we get a clear view but on this ...
