Ich liebe den Strand von Negril!

Das ist aber auch das Einzigste... Negril besteht (fast) nur aus Strand, Hotels, Restaurants, Souveniershops und sonstigen "geschäftigen" Leuten am Strand...

Wie sagte der Sohn meiner Gastfamilie:
an diesem Strand kannst du alles kaufen... eine Nuklearwaffe, eine Reise zum Mond, ...

... is a couples hotel...so - no children around...in my view it's a plus, but views of course differ...

Food there is not great, selection is so-so...it's a minus...but drinks are fine (they also use premium liquor), and they have swim-up bar and martini bar...so - it's a plus...

We are sitting on the narrow but seven miles long beach, the greenish-blue Carribean sea in front of us, and a guy named Jaysend sits to my right. After offering us massages and hair-braiding services - which we politely declined - he reassures us that the torrential rain which started last evening after sunset and lasted well into the night, was an absolute exception in this dry season, and will not happen again. He was wrong on that, as it rained again at lunch time.

... happened one year ago, but I was unable to appreciate the various twists and turns of the story. The other newspaper, The Star, proved to be much easier reading. It published random text messages sent in by readers, and I amused myself reading them.
