... compressed cemented together to form the red sandstone, the white sandstone was the result of water leaching through the rock removing the red coloration and depositing calcium carbonate. This red and white coloration has formed beautiful designs that only Mother Nature could create. This serene atmosphere here in the wonders of nature was contrasted a few minutes later when we entered the interstate roadway system of Las Vegas for our return to the camper.
... whereabouts as we were due at the bar at 8pm. I tried waking Alec he pretty much didn't move. I then managed to stumble my way up the strip. Find a cheeseburger and sit in a restaurant by myself and eat it at 11pm. Made it home and passed out hard.

The road from there was stunning. It was a long series of S bends, twisting this way and that round the mountains. A wonderful drive, with breathtaking views, divided between forest and rocky Mountains.
The scenery changed as we approached the desert, dropping down onto a flat plain with nothing for miles in any direction. Every now and then we hit a lush green patch which was over a now dry river bed, but mostly nothing and nothing followed by nothing.

The flight was a little bumpy with turbulence but nothing to be excited about. We landed and organised our shuttle bus back to the hotel and had a little look round at the gift store at Boulder Airport. The bus we had was sooo hot and the humidity was so warm if felt like you were cooking and the wind wasn't helping as that was hot too. The good thing was the shuttle bus broke down and ...
... of the room Sunday night for dinner (McDonalds) and checked out the view from the observation deck at our hotel which was the highest tower in Vegas. We got transformed into cartoons in our hungover states & the artist was highly entertained drawing Sam's giant bed hair & my massive smile.
