... that I have been to (and I assure you, I've seen my fair share). Not only is sand EVERYWHERE and I truly mean EVERYWHERE, but trash is cluttered at every street corner and smog blinds you from what (I assume) is a gorgeous view of the capital. It truly saddens me that these are probably some of the reasons Egypt's tourism is vastly declining.
So. Today, I slept in and Ross (AUS), Chris (NZ), and I headed out for the Citadel. ...
... which was wrapped in a white sheet and placed in the grave in an intentional way as if it were supposed to face something. Unfortunately we had to leave before we could ask someone because our flight was leaving soon. Getting back was easy because we had a mental map of Cairo and the airport. We got back to the airport at roughly 9:30 pm and waited at the terminal of the plane that would take us to Malaysia next. A 16 hr flight, So exciting!
... pet mummies, weird. They had a mummy or remains of a crocodile, man that thing must've been huge. After the museum visit we had to then make our way to the Sokhna Port (Cairo) and back to the boat, sorry ship for departure at 7pm. The drive would take us just over 2 hours, one hour to get out of the congested Cairo itself and the rest to travel the desert back to the Port. We arrived at around 6.20pm with just enough Egyptian pound to get Pete a scarf ...

The two historical sites are fascinating, and we see very few other tourists – practically no other Americans. There are astounding details in the stonework, and so many colors after thousands of years! We return to the hotel in mid-afternoon for lunch and a free evening.
Tonight three of us went to dinner at the Indian restaurant at the hotel. We all went vegetarian, and the meal ...
