    Day 21, dehydration followed by a slow death is imminent. Skin is textured like parchment and almost translucent, lips cracked and bleeding, eyes are sunken.....     We continue to make our way east, next stop the Upper Peninsula of the state of Michigan to the city of Marquette. The population was 21,355 at the 2010 census, making it the most populated city of the UP. Note: the entire UP only has a little over 311,000 residence. Marquette is a major port on Lake Superior, primarily for shipping iron ore (see picture below of train dock), and is the home of Northern Michigan University.
