... got married, he brought his wife in to the hutong. One hutong family fixed food together, showered in a public shower together and used the bathroom facilities in public bathroom facilities together. The tiny courtyards were for all families to use. Basically, they were crammed together in these tiny areas to live and that is the way it pretty much was until the 1990s. ... get any good sleep until I got that smell out of the room. So, after I put the trashcan in the toilet outside the cabin, all was good and we slept uneventfully until the attendant woke us up at 7AM as we were entering Xi’An. We’re all looking forward to getting to our hotel room and taking showers and having some breakfast. I have us booked in the Hilton Xi’An which is supposed to be roughly a kilometer from the train station so hopefully we’ll be able to ...
