This hotel is centrally located and offered a great place for us to stay for two weeks. Internet is the biggest challenge. If you need reliable internet service for communications, you will have problems.

Checked in, lost Peter's flat cap and found the hotel bar all in the first hour. Peter is certain his cap will turn up but I doubt it. I'll have to find a replacement as it was entirely my fault.

The event leading up to Cape Town, South Africa were really cool too. But I will write about all of them in a separate blog post. ANYWAY, South ...

Day 7 Left Hermanus in the pouring rain, Mike at the wheel because I was being wimpish about driving a manual car and we didn't add another driver! In hindsight this was silly because the roads are practically empty and pretty straight. A long drive today mainly through farm land with the mountains running along the left of us. To entertain Mike I educated us on Cape Town's history from Lonely Planet's guide to Cape Town. So much more interesting when you ...

... germ presentation, we asked how many students knew someone with TB or HIV. The whole class had raised their hands. I hope that this brought some awareness to them and they can spread the word to their family, friends, and community. When we were asking them to tell us how these to particular diseases are spread, I was shocked that a 12 year old was answering these questions the way they were. Sex, drugs, needles, reusing condoms, and touching blood were ...
