Hello! After a week and half (feels like a lot longer!) of hectic travelling, we finally made it to Ko Phan Ngan. We stayed on a beach called Thong Nai Pan Yoi in these tiny little beach huts, right on the beach. We had the beach hut closest to the beach than anyone else on the tour- it was literally right on the beach! While on the island, are sleeping patterns turned slightly nocturnal. normally get up at ten- have lunch, chill out during the day (go snorkelling, kayaking, sleep, going to w...

They were all under the jurisdiction of Nakhon Si Thammarat until King Rama IV decided to move Tha Thong City to Ban Don and required that it report directly to Bangkoks administration. The name Ban Don was, at the time, changed to Kanchanadit. It was ...
Surat Thani, Thailand amazingthailand... that night visited the local seafood stalls where we sampled the local fish and seafood (and true thai style we had the custom half bottle of whisky to go with it).. so it was a fun night.. Pretchup Kiri Khan is a lovely place.. Day 3: The next morning before we left, we drove round the bay and visited the 'fishermans village' where they still handmake their fishing boats... it was a wet rainy day but still the scenery was stunning.. and the rain was quite ...
Surat Thani, Thailand lynnthaimaguire... into the expanse of the water. It was absolutely stunning, the most beautiful place I've ever been. We eventually arrived a the floating raft houses and had a swim in the lake before lunch. After lunch we went trekking. We had to wade through a few streams and my ...
Khao Sok National Park, Thailand claramon... boat. Huge waves were soon crashing over the decks, the swell looking a good 15-20 feet as the boat was randomly tossed about. People began to be sick and those who weren't sick all looked worried. Apart from us. The situation was so far out of my control I simply sat back and enjoyed the (extreme) fairground ride. It was interesting to see macho Liverpudlians tamed by the waves but in truth they had every right to be scared. The ferry was small and there were no life rafts. If the boat had ...
Surat Thani, Thailand planetgeli... about 3 hours later they get screwdrivers to open the window....Now its louder then hell and no way we can really sleep, but we attempt it. I think I was kind of sleeping until we came to a hard stop and loud breaking, around 3 am. I pay no attention and fall back asleep. I wake again around 330 because we are still stopped....No one speaks english so were just ignored all together! FInally the lady across from me wakes up converses with the other thai people and ...
Surat Thani, Thailand ecce... was very reasonably priced at 310 Baht for 3 people. The drive to Aonang beach was a long one and took approx 40 min as we passed through the palm lined narrow road. Often the pounding of waves of the sea made us aware of presence of beaches around. By the time we reached the hotel we were tired and retired. The hotel was very pleasent and we were alloted a room overlooking the sea on the top floor( 4th floor). 25 May 08-Trip to Krabi Town I woke up early and ...
Bangkok and Krabi, Thailand rahulbhatia20... and lined up on the street above. You got down to the beach (easily a 20 foot drop) by means of a narrow, ricketty ladder not unlike you would find on the side of a swimming pool and really hard to manouver when you were sober, never mind drunk. There were sharp rocks across the beach which the tide had brought in with it, which made it impossible to get out to the boats. There were police, Thais and tourists all panicking, pushing, falling over in the water and ...
Surat Thani, Thailand lcordiner... The water, of course, was always cold and refreshing and the task of bathing was made even more difficult by the fact that we women had to covered when doing so. At first, it was awkward and a bit cumbersome to wash and rinse the body while wearing a sarong, but after some practice I think I became quite good at it. Knowing how to hold the sarong discretely away from your body and how exaclty to pour the water over yourself to reach the desired places. There were also six ...
Surat Thani, Thailand azurra... tastes associated with thai cuisine: sweetness, sourness, saltyness and spicyness. And to enhance each flavor, the following ingredients are added to dishes: palm sugar for sweetness, tamarind sauce for sourness, fish or oyster sauce for saltyness and of obviously CHILLIS for spicyness (I learned that the small green ones are the spiciest so I've taken the necessary precautions). I'm getting quite used to the spice and am enjoying the kick that comes with eating each meal...just ...
